Echidna

Family Tachyglossidae.  Found in Australia, its our country's odd looking animals, with its spiny body, long snout and waddling movements.  Eats ants and termites.  Reaches a lenght of 35-50cm.  Gestation 14 days to egg laying.  Egg hatches after 10 days.  Echidna rolls up in a prickly ball when the soil is too hard to burrow to escape.
