Dachshund Dog


The dachshund is said to train its owner rather than the other way around.  Originally bred to flush badgers ("dachs' in german) out of their dens.  it swims and few can climb trees, although they are adapted to life on the ground.  Sense of smell is exceptionally well developed and this, with their good eyesight and keen hearing, allows them to follow a trail through a forest on a dark night.
